MacNamara's artistic journey began with early influences from Life and Look magazines, where she found inspiration in journalistic photographs depicting people and their life stories.

While initially studying biology, physical sciences, and psychology in college, she eventually thrived in the decorative arts business in Denver, CO and Prescott, AZ. As an internationally certified color consultant, she collaborated on high-end projects, contributing hand-crafted finishes represented in design centers in New York City A & D Building and Dania, Florida DCOTA.

After completing dual majors in painting and sculpture at Arizona State University, MacNamara will recently earn her MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Arts from Florida Atlantic University, supported by a full teaching assistantship grant.

Her large-scale, mixed-media abstract pieces and sculptures continuously evolve, experimenting with materials to mimic the intricacies of skin and the inner layers of the physical self. Through innovative research with papers and glues, she visually captures imprints of energy channels representing life's experiences, deepening her exploration of the mind-body relationship.

Throughout her artistic endeavors, MacNamara remains mindful of individuals' inherent stories and experiences, a fascination that originated from her early encounters with journalistic photography.
